Singapore’s national airline is Singapore airlines began in 1947, when MAL (Malayan Airways Limited) Airspeed Consul took off from Singapore Airport on inaugural flights to Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Ipoh. Later on DC-3 aircrafts were introduced and flights started for Vietnam, Indonesia, Burma, North Borneo and Sarawak. After merging Singapore, Malaya, Sabah and Sarawak in formation of Federation of Malaysia in 1963, the airline’s name was changed to Malayan Airways, and in 1966 it was changed into Malaysia Singapore Airlines (MSA) and later on to Singapore Airlines. In 2009, Singapore Airlines ranked 33rd Fortune’s World’s Most Admired Companies.

As Singapore Airlines is among the world’s best airlines, so like all other companies bookings are made in advance. Singapore airline offers online and offline booking options, which are available from any location within network. This booking facility is for non commercial, commercial or personal use. Passengers cannot copy, modify, distribute, transmit, reproduce, display, create derivatives work, transfer or sell any information of the ticket openly. Booking facilities both offline or online is owned by Singapore Airlines Limited (SIA). When booking is made for reservation, passenger has to agree to the terms of conditions and other notices. Information in booking facility can change without notice; in this case, SIA does not warrant nor represent completeness of booking facility or any data or information. Up to 7 passenger reservation in economy, 4 in Business and first class for Singapore Airlines flights can be done. Infants (under 2 years) and children (2 to below 12 years) must travel with accompanying adult. Reservations for booking are subject to applicable fare conditions and seat vacancies in fare group. Payment is done at the time of reservations, fares and taxes are quoted and charged in currency which is displayed in fare quote. For electronic ticket credit card is must at time of purchase, credit card holders must be in the travelling party. Carriage and services are subject to SIA conditions or contract and notices. Passengers must have valid visas for the country they are traveling to and must have their passports on their person when traveling. Fares may not include all taxes. Such information may be quoted with fares and total dues. Passenger service charges can be applied at check-in. Certain fees, taxes and passenger services charges (incorporated in ticket and collected at time of ticket issuance) are refundable in case ticket is not utilized. Refund is credited back to mode of payment used to purchase the ticket.

Singapore Airlines offers a suite of options and flight and booking alerts. Customers can choose to have SMS of email sent to mobiles or on email address. These alerts are based on booked itineraries and are updated each time passengers modify their booking.
